Shriya Opens Spa for Visually Hadicapped

Watch Chikku Bukku Tamil Movie Online

Shriya Saran is in the spotlight once again and this time it is for her philanthropic activities. The actress has opened a spa in Mumbai to help the visually challenged and make them self-sufficient. According to close sources, the Spa is an initiative by an NGO that’s set up by the actress’ family. It is reported that the actress was always concerned about the disabled.
The actress has been quoted saying, “When I studied in Delhi, we used to visit a blind school quite often. My experiences there left a deep impact on me, so much so that I chose to open a spa to lend a hand to visually challenged people in Mumbai.”
The state-of-the-art spa which is also meant for the public which offers specialised health treatments like reflexology and massages will be run by a set of visually-challenged people who have been trained in these techniques. The equipments used are also custom-made and programmed in such a way that the blind service personnel can handle them with ease.
On the work front, Shriya is thrilled about her next Tamil film Chikku Bukku where she teams up with Arya. Talking about the film she says, “Though it’s a simple love story, the beauty lies in the way director Manikandan has narrated it. I am confident it will be liked by all.”
She is currently busy with her second Malayalam film Casanova with Mohanlal and the glamorous actress is making an efforts to learn the language. She is soon expected to leave for Dubai for the filming of Casanova.
Shriya is also quite upbeat about her upcoming film with ace director Deepa Mehta, this movie is a screen adaptation of Salman Rushdie’s novel, Midnight’s Children.

"Life is not all about money, fame and what matters is what you do for the people around you. I am planning to open a spa in Mumbai shortly which will cater only to the blind. When I was studying in Delhi, I used to visit a blind school and interact with the kids. I understand their needs," says Shriya Saran. "For me, acting is just my profession. I've always been socially aware," she adds.

Shriya Saran, who made a comeback to Telugu cinema with Don Seenu and Puli, has recently completed shooting for Chikku Bukku, co-starring Arya and directed by Manikandan. The film will hit cinemas on December 3rd. Besides, she is also acting in the Malayalam film Casanova opposite Mohanlal.

She adds, "I'm confident that I can do justice to whatever role is given to me. I've learnt a lot from Mohanlal. I've accepted a script narrated by Deepa Mehta which we will shoot next year. It is an adaptation of Salman Rushdie's Midnight's Children. I am more than happy to be an actress because I get to work with experienced actors on different scripts."

Shriya Saran
Looks like Shriya Saran is grabbing eyeballs all over again. Shuffling between three film industries, Shriya seems quite happy to be back to the forefront. “I’m excited about my Tamil release this week,” begins Shriya, talking about her film Chikku Bukku, wherein she stars opposite Arya. “Though it’s a simple love story, the magic is in the way it has been told. A boy and girl are forced to travel together — this story is about the discoveries they make about each other enroute,” she adds.
The weirdest part about acting with Arya had to do with dealing with his pranks, Shriya tells us. “Arya’s a fun guy. He is very playful on the sets. In fact, once he actually threw a live frog on me!” she reveals.
As of now, it is the Malayalamfilm industry that Shriya seems to have taken over. She’s busy shooting for Casanova alongside Mohanlal. “This would be my second film in Malayalam and this time, I am keen on learning the language too,” she informs. The actor is also quite upbeat about her upcoming film in ace director Deepa Mehta’s screen adaptation of Salman Rushdie’s novel, Midnight’s Children. “Working with Deepa is an experience. We’re planning to start shooting for the film early next year,” she states.
However, it’s not just films that keeps this star so busy, for Shriya has quite an active philanthropic side as well. “When I used to study in Delhi, we used to visit a blind school quite often. My experiences there left a deep impact on me, so much so that I chose to open a spa for visually challenged people in Mumbai.
The strongest of their senses is that of touch. So at the spa, we offer them treatments like reflexology and massages that are programmed to give them great comfort,” she signs off.
